"Technology, especially digital technology, has changed the ways most forms of media function. From film making, photography, to all forms of media - communication has been changed forever", says Mike Pandey, Filmmaker and conservationist, River Bank Studio an Earthmatters Foundation.
He further says that, "In the future schools will revolutionize their teaching practices. The black board has already been replaced by an interactive flat screen. Visual communication through technology will play a big role in the future. Over 400 million people have access to cellular phones in India today, and are already learning through them. Quality education can be delivered, the school curriculum can reach large number of children, and the teachers’ role will change forever. The next big boom would be in e-learning or computer aided learning. The skeptics fears may be put to rest as computer aided education has been found to be more stimulating for children than the chalk and talk method."
"In Singapore he witnessed a 3D animation manipulation as part of a classroom session. The children were completely rapt and so was I", adds Mike.
"It is also cost effective as the same content can reach thousands at the click of a mouse. The human resource which is so challenging to train and difficult to find, can be diminished or rather used elsewhere."
