Saudi's New TV Channel

Saudi is very soon coming with a new channel which will focus mainly on the Saudi affairs and their heritage and modern developments. The channel has been named as ‘Alif Alif’ and will broadcast its programmes from Jeddah, London, and Dubai as well.

According to the information the channel is said to be the brain child of Prince Khaled Al-Faisal. Prince Khaled bin Sultan, founder of Al Watan Arabic daily, Prince Turki bin Nasser, head of the Presidency of Meteorology and Environment.

Other investors for the channel includes the list of businessmen Abdul Maqsood Khoja, Muhammad Hussein Al-Amoudi, a shareholder of Saudi Research and Marketing Group (SRMG), Saleh Al-Turki, former chairman of Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and Abdul Rahman Al-Sharbatly.

As per the information Prince Khaled's took this initiative to come up with a new channel because of his success in the print media.

There are about 400 Arab channels that broadcast on Arabsat and Nilesat. Some of them are official channels of Arab countries while others are owned by the private sector. They focus mainly on music, films, sports, and news and family topics.
