DB Corp registers 25% growth for second quarter

Dainik Bhaskar's parent company DB Corp is out with its financial results for the second quarter of current fiscal that ended on September 30th. The company has made a long stride with soaring advertising revenues with a 17.8% growth. Also, its consolidated net profit registered a growth of remarkable 25%.
With overwhelming advertising revenue of Rs.2.36 billion, the company has managed to fix its growth to almost 18% on this front. The net profit of Bhaskar in this quarter is Rs.551 million which is significantly 25% more than that of Rs.440million in the same period last fiscal.
During the same period of previous year, company's total revenue was Rs.2.62 billion. While for the same period this year, the revenue surges to Rs.3.01 billion, which is 14.8% more than the previous figure.
Bifurcating the revenue among company's different verticals, print/advertising revenue grew 18.3 per cent to Rs 2.27 billion while circulation revenue increased to Rs 532 million (from Rs 527 million). Meanwhile, the radio segment also saw a revenue jump to the tune of Rs 106 million, up from Rs 91 million.
In the radio segment, the operating loss reduced to Rs 23.62 million, from Rs 40.57 million. The income stood at Rs 100.81 million during the quarter.
From the print business, the company saw a 26 per cent jump in net profit to Rs 606 million. The segment profit was at Rs 897.15 million, on an income of Rs 2.87 billion.
The company's expenditure has jumped to Rs 2.17 billion in the second quarter of FY 11 as against Rs 1.88 billion in the corresponding quarter of last fiscal. |
