UTV Software Communications has said that its consolidated net profit jumped nearly five fold to Rs.40 crores for the quarter that ended September 30, over the same period last year.

Total revenues rose to Rs.239.9 crore in the July-September quarter, against Rs.237.7 crore in the same period previous fiscal, UTV Software Communications said.

"Last year, we were in our investment mode and second is we have got our cost efficiency as well," said Ronnie Screwvala (CEO, UTV).

This growth is a whopping one with 384 per cent up as compared to Rs 83.06 million in the same quarter of the previous year, indicating the integrated media company is on course to achieving its fiscal targets.

The company has consolidated the financials of UTV Communications (USA), IG Interactive Entertainment, UTV Global Broadcasting, UTV TV Content, UTV Games, First Future Agri and Developers, UTV New Media, Indiagames and the group's stepdown subsidiaries -Ignition Entertainment, True Games Interactive, Genx Entertainment, UTV Entertainment Television, UTV Tele-Talkies and RB Entertainment Ltd and the joint venture - Screenshot Television Limited and Vikatan UTV Content.
