After Reliance Communications launched cheapest tablet PC, this time Beetel Teletech, a Bharti Enterprises group firm has come with the cheapest tablet computer, priced at Rs9, 999.
Beetel's Magiq sports has a seven-inch screen and is based on Android 2.2 Froyo OS. The device is powered by a 1GHz processor and supports 8GB of internal memory, which can be extended up to 16GB via microSD cards. The low-cost tablet has 2MP frontal and rear cameras and features a 2200 mAh battery, Wi-Fi, 3G and Bluetooth connectivity. One can make phone calls with the device as well, since it has a SIM card slot. For extra navigation, Magiq sports a navigational trackpad too.
As these low cost tablets are coming to the market, challenge for the prominent tablets like Apple's iPad 2, Motorola Xoom and Samsung Galaxy has increased. It will be very interesting to see how these brands cope with the heat of the low range tablets. |
