Google adds new voice commands in the latest version of Android 2.2

Google Inc’s latest version of Android 2.2 which encompasses 10 new voice commands for the users enabling them to operate the Android phones without using a keypad.
The Android 2.2, also called Froyo, is currently not equipped in the Android-powered smartphones which have a sales figure of about 2,00,000 each day according to Google. The new features have to be downloaded for free from the Android Market.
The new “Voice Actions” offered by Google for the Android’s mobile platform enables people to call businesses and contacts, send texts and email, listen to music, browse the web, and complete common tasks, all by just speaking into the phone.
Alongside Google also announced an updated version of the Google search widget for Android. Both Voice Actions and the new Google search widget require Android 2.2 (Froyo), and will be pre-installed with the new Droid 2 phone from Motorola and Verizon. Voice Actions are currently available for U.S. English speakers. |
