PathPartner Tech releases its Android 2.0 powered mediaphone with social media, rich voice and video communications, web entertainment and applications on large screen with AlwaysON experience at the ongoing Convergence India 2010.
The solution runs on home broadband and Wi-Fi, and is powered by Cortex-A8 based application processor which runs Android. The Android based solutions includes features such as high quality HD (wide-band) Voice call, Acoustic echo canceller, Voice over IP, H.264 Video call, Social Media, Internet Radio, Movie trailers, catalogue, TV schedules, games, applications and widgets.
"With major operators rolling out country-wide video Telephony service" according to Mr Dipanjan Ghosh VP-Technology at Pathpartner Tech, "there will be increased awareness and uptake in consumer video phone category. Adding location based commercials and services, rich social media integration and good quality video conferencing capability to existing fixed-line phones will bring about next level of revolution in Indian telecom and broadband industry".
Android 2.0 has been customized and optimized for large screen of resolutions up-to 1024x600, VOIP and V2IP (Voice and Video over IP) middleware are added, DLNA middleware for detecting and managing home media content over WiFi are added, User interface has been customized completely for a large screen mediaphone, power-up and shutdown time has been optimized, host of applications and widgets covering Movies, TV Guide and TV shows, Web Videos, Photos has been added. The solution bundles high performance Video and Photo applications which delivers more than 2x performance improvement compared to existing applications. Other functionalities include synchronization of contacts from internet or mobile handset using Bluetooth. Few enhancements include boot time improvement, 2D graphic performance improvement for faster UI performance, integrated suite of hardware codecs to deliver high performance media applications, innovative caching and pre-fetching in applications for improved accessing home network and social media sites such as Flickr, Picasa and Youtube.

One can use such device for quick catch-up with what's on TV, make calls, surf through social network, watch videos, sample latest movie trailers & even book a ticket. The device can integrate with operators' service channel providing easy access to host of paid and free service applications. The software is equally suitable for desk-top phones as well as wall mounts in living room or kitchen.
