Jaipur gets country's first Fibre to the Home service from BSNL

To enable consumers with lightening fast speed and improved quality of data transfer on internet, BSNL in co-opeartion with Akash Optfibre Ltd. has launched country’s first ever Fibre to the Home (FTTH) service at Jaipur, the capital city of Rajasthan.

Mr. Sachin Pilot (Union Minister of State for IT & Communications) inaugurated the service here on Friday. With this deal, Akash Optifibre Ltd. is to provide multiplay services with high definition content to BSNL. Around 28,000 residents of Jaipur city who are the consumers of BSNL broadband will be benefited from this new service under which IPTV service ‘icontol’ will be accessible to customers. This will mean a very fast 100 Mbps speed internet connectivity. For the purpose of uploading, 2.5 Gbps will be the data transferring speed.
