The Hyderabad-based start up Notion Ink’s touchscreen tablet PC running the Android OS is one of the most discussed upcoming devices, other than the Apple’s tablet that took the stock value of the company by storm.
The new Android device, which is expected to be unveiled by the Indian firm at the CES (Consumer Electric Show) International 2010 next month, has been developed in collaboration with teams in Taiwan, the U.S. and India.
The unnamed device, as of now, has been developed around the yet to be announced NVIDIA Tegra T20 chipset. Besides, it is also the first confirmed device that deploys the 10.1-inch transflective display from Pixel Qi.
Other specs that are out, according to the reports in various publications, are that the Notion Ink’s device supports 1080p Full HD video playback, has integrated WiFi, Bluetooth and UMTS/HSDPA as well as a 3-megapixel auto-focus camera with video recording support.
Moreover, the Android tablet also has the feature to double up as an e-reader, according to the report at PC World.
The tablet PC devices are gaining the momentum rapidly with Dell, Asus, Microsoft and Apple all rumored to have their very own tablet PCs in the development stages. Notion Ink’s android tablet PC is the addition to the list. |
