Players stunned as 3G spectrum auction postponed

Big players who were all prepared to grab spectrum space in the upcoming auction of 3G, may get  disappointed as the according to the recent report by the India's premier new agency PTI, government in its recent decision has postponed the auction till August-September later this year.

The sudden decision has come with in a week of its declaration, left the players surprised. According to estimation, around Rs. 35,000 crores collection was expected with the auction.

The reason that is being speculated behind the move is the non-availability of the spectrum due to the acquisition of Ministry of Defence, according to Law Minister Veerappa Moily. According to officials, the auction is likely to roll on in August-September this year, which earlier was scheduled to occur much before than this time.
