Web censorship dispute between China and Google will not debar mobile phone companies from using Google’s Android operating system. China says the technology is completely acceptable if used respecting all the rules and regulations. The statement came in response to Google’s postponing of its android based smart phone the country on Jan 12. Google challenged China of not barring its search results. The decision could have been of loss for companies who are developing Android based phones.
"As long as it fulfills Chinese laws and regulations and has good communication with telecom operators, I think its application should not have restrictions," said Zhu Hongren, a spokeman for the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, at a regular news briefing when asked whether Beijing would permit use of Android.
China being the world’s biggest population which largely shares mobile market, can not afford to impose any restrictions on the Internet giant, as it will largely effect its ambitions regarding the growth of telecommunication sector. Moreover Google is looking to set up its full fledged Development Centre in Beijing along with a fascinating advertising sales team. All these factors made it unavoidable for the government to ease pressure on this issue. |
