State run Telco BSNL is on with its expansion of WiMAX services across the country. For this the company has installed base station set ups in different states. BSNL looks forward to facilitate consumers with this advanced version of broadband services on a revenue sharing basis with franchises.

Till yet, BSNL has deployed 348 base stations in the urban areas of Kerala Circle, 335 base stations in urban areas of Punjab Circle, 25 base stations in Andhra Pradesh and Maharashtra each, and 33 base stations in Gujarat.

Far ahead of BWA (Broadband Wireless Auction) that conducted few months earlier for private players, both MTNL and BSNL were granted one block of 20MHz BWA spectrum in the year 2008.

Now, BSNL has installed 827 base stations in different rural regions of the country.
