Acer has rolled out a new netbook device with embedded wireless broadband connectivity in collaboration with the telecommunication services provider Reliance Communications (RCOM).� The new Aspire One532h will be shipped with inbuilt Reliance Netconnect Broadband Plus services.

The joint initiative by the two companies is to promote PC and Internet penetration in the country wherein it would eliminate the need of plugging any external device for internet access on the netbook device.

Mr. S Rajendran, Chief Marketing Officer, Acer India, opined, “The Indian market has been displaying a tremendous appetite for mobile connectivity in the form of Netbooks and Notebooks. This gets a further fillip with Acer’s embedded broadband Netbook with a multitude of attendant benefits like longer battery-life, convenience, tighter integration, security and lower TCO. A new category has been pioneered by Acer, and as has been its wont, this first-to-market initiative would further turbo-charge our growth in the Indian market”.�

The Acer Aspire One532h provides with 2 months of complimentary usage of integrated and inbuilt Reliance NetConnect Broadband Plus worth Rs 2198. The Netbook is optimized for running rich media / heavy applications like Video Conferencing, Video Streaming, Electronic Surveillance, Online Multi-player games and heavy file transfers. The Reliance Netconnect Broadband Plus service would offer the users with high speed connectivity of upto 3.1 Mbps across 66 Indian cities and speeds upto 156 Kbps across 25000 towns and 6 lakh Indian villages on Reliance’s state-of-the-art CDMA network.

Speaking after announcing the Initiative Mr. R Swaminathan, Hub Head - Karnataka Circle, Reliance Communications said “Reliance has taken the lead in bringing innovations in the mobile data space.� Each of these innovations has successfully met specific needs of our customers and this has resulted in significant growth in our mobile data business”.� “Now, by collaborating with a leading giant in laptops, Acer, we are taking the innovation to a new level whereby the customer will experience even more convenience”.�

With these features the Netbook has been competitively priced starting at Rs.19499.
