Barack Obama will be the first president who will chat live with the public regarding the annual state of union address. Obama will participate through Google plus's “hangout” in a chat session with the public and answer questions for a duration of 45 minutes.

Google plus will be displaying some questions on video sharing site YouTube for users to select and ask the president.

The chat session will take place on Monday afternoon and the president will speak to congress on the next day .The Hangout, where multiple people can be on video chat in one room, will be hosted on the new White House Google Plus page, and streamed live on the whitehouse.gov website.

Macon Phillips, White House director of digital strategy said that participants for the session will not be chosen by the White House and American citizens will have full rights to ask questions they care about.

Google "hangout" has so far witnessed a lot of political figures but this is the first time that the president will be available for a session.

Steve Grove, head of community partnerships for Google Plus said that the experience will be a unique one as it has never happened before.
