Google has announced that Google+ is not a social network meant for directly competing against Facebook.
Google's Chief Business Officer Nikesh Arora said that Google+ is a platform which allows the company to bring social elements into all the services and products it offers. He added that was the reason why Google+ includes YouTube and 'direct connect' goes into its search business.
However, he admitted that there are some features on Google+ which compete with some features on Facebook.
Google+ currently has over 40 million users.
