The Associated Press (AP) has resorted to new agreement with Google Inc, the search engine giant for its content licensing terms.

The two companies have reached new agreement on the continued licensing of AP content by Google for its new aggregation portal Google News.

Google News began with the service of aggregating original stories from news publishers as well as the top news agencies in 2007 to provide the readers with many different perspectives on a story from as many different sources as possible quickly and easily.

Under the agreement, AP and Google will also work together in a number of new areas, such as ways to improve discovery and distribution of news.

Besides Google, AP also has content licensing agreement with Yahoo! Inc for Yahoo! News.
