We smell increasing competition in the portable media player segment as this new touchscreen media player ships to the Indian region to woo the music lovers.

Creative, a worldwide leader in digital entertainment products for the personal computer (PC) and the Internet ships Creative Zen X-Fi2 media player in the Indian market.

The digital media player with a an ultra sleek and elegant appearance has a 3-inch TFT LCD screen that allows the user to easily move through the various functions of the player through their fingers.

Apart from the normal audio files, the players lets the listeners play stored movies and FM Radio with the incorporated X-Fi technology. Besides adjustable X-Fi Crystalizer intelligently restores detail lost during file compression with just one touch. Take in also the most acoustically natural sound staging in headphone audio available from a media player with the X-Fi Expand technology. These eclusive add-on technologies from Creative allow experiencing the very essence of music perfection.

Creative Zen X-FI 2 media player play DivX and MPEG4 movies, and view pictures. It also supports MP3, WMA, AAC and FLAC audio formats.

The player comes with EP-630 in-ear earphones that have been developed with the feature to block out the external noise while you are enjoying your music. It comes with ear tips in three different sizes for comfort.

The X-Fi2 also features a built-in speaker and microphone, and supports clock, alarm, calendar, task, and contacts functions. The player also comes with a microSD slot for adding more data, and an AV-Out port (the A/V cable is sold separately) which can be used to display videos and pictures on the TV.

Available in three capacities in India, Creative Zen X-Fi2 has been valued at Rs 7,000 for 8GB; Rs 9,500 for the 16GB model; and Rs 12,000 for the 32 GB version.
