AIR makes effort to popularise Carnatic music

All India Radio (AIR) Chennai will hold a 52 week Carnatic music concert series starting December 16, 2011.

AIR Director J. Kamalanathan said that the concerts are being held in order to popularize classical music.

He added that the series would include top musicians and would be held in the multi-track auditorium of the station and broadcasted on FM Gold Channel and Madras A frequency at the same time.

why not try a similar programme for young and upcoming artists -- say recently "B" graded Artists?
