Big FM's new multi-lingual mobile radio service announced with OnMobile

Emphasising more of the innovative services offered by the Reliance Media World Ltd’s (RMWL) radio network has now introduced BIG MOBILE RADIO.
In a filing with the BSE, RMWL has notified that in a strategic alliance with VAS provider OnMobile Global, the Anil Dhirubhai firm is beginning with a new initiative to provide its listeners with extensive radio experience on the mobile platform.
Tagged as “Big Mobile Radio”, the service will give mobile users the option to listen to 17 multi-lingual specially programmed channels anywhere in India. Moreover it will also be available in selective global regions that have large Indian communities, including Malaysia, Singapore, UAE, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Indonesia.
RMWL’s radio network, Big 92.7 FM, is the largest in the Indian region. The network covers around 45 cities. The reach of the network was recently extended by seven more cities through its sales association with Radio Dhamaal and Rangila FM.
With this new initiative the BIG Mobile Radio experience will go from 45 cites to over 4500 cities and towns including rural areas in an ad-free format. Besides, this service brings BIG network to reach a new audience and enable listeners to tune into their favourite programmed channels regardless of their location
“Leveraging the radio station’s programming expertise; Big Mobile Radio will create special feeds for mobile listeners, which include an assortment of entertainment options to select from and allow consumers to enjoy songs, Bollywood entertainment, jock talk, humour, health tips and more,” says the release by RMWL.
This is another among first initiative by BIG FM. The network recently also launched audio books. The operators who will offer the "Big Mobile radio" experience will be announced shortly. |
