AIR to work in partnership with Radio Netherlands producing Earth Beat India

National Radio Station of India AIR is all set to work in co-ordination with Radio Netherlands Worldwide for the consolidated production of a special programme ‘Earth Beat India’. This programme is scheduled to be broadcast on AIR in both English and Hindi languages once in every two weeks.
The task of the team of Earth Beat is to look after the heartbeat of planet Earth. This team highlights the stories of people who are working for the betterment of environment of the planet and trying to make it a better place to live. Earth Beat India keeps a constant eye on efforts of people made in direction of creating, developing, conserving the environment. It is also about taking on those people who are destroying the climate and putting a question mark on the modern lifestyle of today’s people which emphasize on more and more consumption. They look out for the issues on which our future will largely depend.
In the consolidation, AIR on the one hand will represent Indian perspective on environment related issues, whereas, RNW focuses on international events with new opinions, green gadgets and greenwash. This programme will also act as a complete interactive platform for Developed and Developing Countries to come up with their environmental related issues. Poonam Girdhani and Chhavi Sachdev will be handling the responsibility of presentation. Other than AIR, Radio Netherlands is currently in co-operation with Cable TV, Private FMs, Various Websites, IGNOU University Radio and with several broadcasters.
RNW Director General, Jan Hoek, said: "As an international broadcaster we make daily productions in 10 languages and we work together worldwide with more than 3.000 partner radio stations. With this new cooperation we embrace our 11th language Hindi and a major party in India".

Lalli, CEO, Prasar Bharati, said, "I am happy that All India Radio and Radio Netherlands Worldwide have joined hands in co-producing and broadcasting a series of radio programmes called 'Earth Beat' on their networks. The issues pertaining to environment and sustainability of growth are globally relevant. I hope, these programmes will assist in promoting proper awareness and interest of our audiences. I am also hopeful that the two organizations will be able to expand the areas of mutual cooperation and assistance."
AIR have plans to broadcast the episodes of Earth Beat India from its centers situated in cities such as Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Shillong, Panaji, Bangluru, Chennai and the from the National Channel of AIR, in English. Whereas, Delhi, Patna, Lucknow, Jaipur, Bhopal, Ranchi, Shimla, Portblair, Itanagar and Rohtak will be the stations who will look after the telecast of the episodes of Earth Beat India in Hindi.� |
