Mail Today, compact daily from India Today Group , has launched its Chandigarh edition.
Without giving a prior notice, the edition hit newsstands on 5th Jan 2012. The edition was printed at the Indian Express press in Panchkula and surprised the readers.
The launch of Mail Today's Chandigarh edition was initially planned for the first week of December 2010. However, it had to be deferred following the resignations of its Editor Bharat Bhushan and COO Rahul Thappa. Thappa's position is now taken over by Manoj Sharma, who was earlier Business Head of Mail Today. In fact, Sharma has just been further elevated to the position of Group Business Head.

Mail Today's Chandigarh edition will also follow the Delhi edition policy i.e. no local news, only national and international news content besides page three type stories.
The tabloid, presently edited from Delhi Office, will hold a total of 40 pages and bear a price of at Rs 2.5. Though weekend edition will have more pages and cost Rs 3.5.
