Indian Express Calls it a day at its J&K Valley edition

Bad news for lovers of ‘Journalism of Courage’ in Kashmir Valley as Indian Express management has decided to shut down its Jammu edition after running it successfully for 13 long years in co-operation with Himalayan Mail, a popular local daily.
According to the reports, Arun Sharma has been promoted to the designation of Bureau Chief by the management and plans are also to send Chandigarh edition serve the Kashmiri readers.
J&K Newsline was the 8 page local newspaper runned in collaboration with a popular newspaper of that area, earlier by the group in the valley. But later, in the year 1998 in an agreement with Himalayan Mail, Indian Express started its J&K Edition in the valley. But in a latest decision the management has decided to terminate the edition and fulfill the vacuum with its Chandigarh edition. |
