The WAN-IFRA, the newly body formed after the merger of World Association of Newspapers (WAN) and IFRA, the research and service organisation for the news publishing industry, has announced that the WAN-IFRA India 2010 Conference will be held in Jaipur.
The WAN-IFRA India Conference is the premier event for Indian newspapers and news publishers. The conference has been scheduled for 15 and 16 September in the Pink City of Jaipur. The conference, the 18th annual event of WAN-IFRA South Asia, will be held in Jaipur for the first time.
In the press announcement released by WAN-IFRA states that the event will have a parallel ‘Production Conference’ and ‘Newsroom Summit South Asia’. The Newsroom Summit, to be held for the first time in the region, will be an extension of the Newsroom Summit that WAN-IFRA organises every year in Europe and the Asia Pacific region. The event will focus on convergent newsroom strategies and young reader concepts. The Production Conference will discuss technological innovations, process management and other contemporary newspaper production subjects.
Although the conference will not be accompanied by the acclaimed WAN-IFRA Expo India, which follows a biennial cycle and will be held next year, the event will offer sponsorship opportunities and as well as a limited number of ‘information kiosks’.
WAN-IFRA South Asia is inviting submissions of papers on the conference themes to be presented for consideration by the conference programme committee. |
