148% hike in net profit for DB Corp.; Ad Revenues soar with Lower Cost of Newspaper

Due to the upgradation of the printing set ups for its publications Dainik Bhaskar and Divya Bhaskar, DB Corp. has posted a growth of 148% with an amount of Rs. 3750 million for this Fiscal Year. It is understood that the upgradation will help the company in enhancing the printing capabilities of full color broadsheet as well as it would be helpful in generation of more revenues from advertising.
Based on the criteria of Readership (according to IRS 2009 Survey), Dainik Bhaskar has been awarded the second position among top 10 dailies in India. The company also runs and circulates DNA, the English news daily for its Gujarat and Rajasthan readers. This newspaper is operated for Diligent Media Corp Ltd (DMCL), Whereas Synergy Media Entertainment Limited a subsidiary of DB Corp. successfully runs the Radio Station 94.3 My FM in seven states. It is said to be still going in loss despite of making considerable amount of Rs. 103 million through advertising sales.
Also from various publications the revenue of DB Corp. soared by Rs. 141 million. Total consolidated revenues reached to Rs. 2814 million, whereas Advertising revenues rose 6.5% to Rs. 2085 million. |
