Reliance Industries Ltd is holding discussions with several cable operators for partnerships and content deals.
According to a report in Reuters, Reliance Industries has got in touch with Den Networks, Digicable Networks, Hathway Cable and Datacom, IndusInd Media and other multi-system operators (MSOs) to buy a minimum of 26 percent stakes to widen the reach of its fourth-generation (4G) broadband services.
Reliance has earlier in January announced that it would invest in TV18's two main companies which saw the company take a major step into the media sector. It also gave a boost to the company's plans of launching its 4G services.
Infotel Broadband Services Ltd., which was acquired by Reliance earlier in 2010 and marked Mukesh Ambani’s return to the telecom industry is the company's vehicle for its telecom space foray.
