Jagran launches 'Pehel', a social initiative

Dainik Jagran, the print media entity with largest circulation in the country has decided to contribute in the growth of development of society. For this, the company has launched an initiative 'Jagran Pehel' which is a unit of 'Shri Puranchandra Gupta Smarak Trust' a non profit unit to serve the social causes founded by Jagran Prakashan Ltd.
'Jagran Pehel' with a support of one of the largest media houses in the country is actively involved in awareness generation and advocacy of social issues through innovative means of mass communication. Dainik Jagran's social initiative has been conceived with the thought that there are large numbers of governmental, semi-governmental and social organizations working towards various developmental and social causes who have not optimized the benefit of their cause which can be derived from media.
This new initiative has come up to develop a well-informed society through social information infrastructure that creates an environment in which people support one another to build a responsible and responsive social order.
The thought is to assist organizations/individuals through social marketing. It is an initiated commitment towards changing mindsets. We believe in the importance of the issue we choose to work on and in the strength of our client partnership.
Jagran Pehel has experienced of implementing different interventions on health, population, education and development related issues and has successfully engaged the community and other stakeholders. As an affiliate of a mass media conglomerate it has successfully achieved the objectives in terms of creating awareness in the targeted groups and subsequent response both at the community level and at the level of policies as well.
Campaign on rights of women with HIV/AIDS, Increasing Public discourse on sex selection through media initiatives, Campaign against diabetes, Campaign against domestic violence on women etc are some of the points on which Jagran Pehel will work. |
