TIMES NOW, India’s No. 1 English News channel has yet again demonstrated its prowess on being the audience’s favourite on big event days. On Budget Day TIMES NOW garnered more viewership than all English and Business news channels, with its power packed Budget coverage.

In CS M25+ AB, 1 mn+ markets TIMES NOW leads the roost with a viewership share of 23% followed by NDTV 24x7 and CNBC TV18 with shares of 21% and 19% respectively.

Mr. Arnab Goswami, Editor-in-chief, TIMES NOW commented, “At the end of the day, people want to see the Big Picture. Not some narrow spectrum view. CNBC caters to that, and that’s why they lost. We have beaten CNBC three of the last four years on the budget. And that’s because viewers want to know the impact of the budget on the India story, not just on their portfolio. The Budget for us is one of many big events, unlike CNBC for which it is the only big ticket event annually. Therefore, winning the budget day is very satisfying for us, but losing the race to Times Now on yet another budget day would perhaps mean more to them.”

Mr. Sandeep Sharma, Sr. Vice President, Marketing & Sales, TIMES NOW & ET NOW elaborates further, “A power packed news programming backed by a strong marketing visibility across print, digital platforms, outdoor, static and innovations ensured TIMES NOW as the viewer’s first choice on the entire Budget day. This also ensured big impact and visibility for all the sponsors on the Budget programming on TIMES NOW. The channel has consistently emerged a clear winner on all big news event days for the last three years.”

TIMES NOW’s power-packed programming included extensive discussions and relevant analysis by the most powerful heavyweights from the Industry, Government and Market Experts complete with a line-up of special debates and chat shows. All this delivered by Editor-in-Chief, Arnab Goswami, Economic and Policy expert and renowned columnist Swaminathan Aiyer, economist and columnist Omkar Goswami, and Editor-Politics and Economy TIMES NOW, Navika Kumar.

In the critical Prime time band, when Budget and its impact was the big story on most channels TIMES NOW garnered a whopping 35% viewership with its closest competitor NDTV 24x7 managing a meager 23%. The Newshour on TIMES NOW again emerged as the most watched News show on News Television.
