SnagFilms has acquired the exclusive U.S. distribution rights to Decoding Deepak, directed by Deepak Chopra's son Gotham Chopra, and will debut the film "day-and-date" for U.S. audiences on October 5th in select theaters, on Video on Demand via cable and satellite providers, and on digital platforms. The film premiered to critical praise at this year’s South By Southwest Film Festival.

Decoding Deepak, a NALA Investments production, is a one-year odyssey of  "discovery" by filmmaker/journalist Gotham Chopra of his father – Deepak Chopra, one of modern media and pop culture’s most ubiquitous figures.

It has been said that "no man is a hero to his butler." Reflecting a son's love and a journalist's skepticism, Decoding Deepak is Gotham Chopra’s occasionally irreverent and alternatively intelligent year-long road trip with his father Deepak. All throughout, Gotham compares the spiritual icon for millions to the very human man known to his family. While a friend and resource for the rich and famous (including Lady Gaga, Oprah and Bill Clinton) and a multi-platform oracle for a worldwide fan base, Deepak Chopra is both a contradiction and cipher to his son. Ultimately what emerges is a picture of a Deepak Chopra who is often more dad than demigod.

Decoding Deepak will be released on the same day in theaters in major markets and nationwide on VOD and digital platforms including iTunes, Amazon, VUDU and Xbox Live by SnagFilms, one of the world’s leading digital distributors of independent films. Paladin will handle theatrical distribution on behalf of SnagFilms.
