Dentsu Media finds Divya Gupta as its new CEO

Dentsu India Group has roped in Divya Gupta as its CEO. She will fill the position which was lying vacant since Sanjoy Chakrabarthy left Dentsu, to move into Zenith Optimedia.
In her new position, Gupta will drive Dentsu's media presence and consolidate its media business in India, and cement its media competencies with global proprietary tools, knowledge, and the best practices from across Dentsu's global network.
She is armed with 25 years of experience in the communications industry. Divya has led media mandates for several large, Indian and global clients; The Tata Group of Companies, The Reliance ADA Group, Colgate-Palmolive, AT&T, Citibank, Parle Products, Godfrey Phillips India, Paramount Pictures and Star TV to name a few.
She began her career in 1987 as a media supervisor with Trikaya Grey India, where she was responsible for media planning and buying on brands such as Lakme Unilever, Holcim Ambuja Cement, and H&R Johnson. Further she joined Ogilvy India as media controller, Mediacom India as vice-president and also served at Bates India and The Media Edge (TME).
Commenting on her appointment, Rohit Ohri, Executive Chairman, Dentsu India Group, said that, her long-drawn engagements with media, as agency head, marketer, owner and strategic advisor have given her an almost uninterrupted consciousness of the dynamic media landscape and he was delighted to have Divya come on board and lead Dentsu Media!
On her joining Dentsu, Divya said that, the media landscape today, is a challenging space that offers opportunities to harness collective media synergies in real time. This enables meaningful brand dialogues with consumers, almost on a one-on-one basis.
