SUN TV Network, one of the largest television broadcasters in India has made changes to the advertising rates of its Telugu channel, Kannada channel and� Malayalam channel.

In a filing at the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), the Company informs, “SUN TV Network today announced increase in its advertisement rates for its Telugu channel Gemini TV, Kannada channel Udaya TV and certain programmes of Malayalam channel Surya TV.”

SUN TV has increased ad rates for Gemini TV ranging from 6% to 16%, for Udaya TV the rise would be upto 20% and for Surya TV the change in ad rates would be upto 5%.

The SUN Network earlier hiked ad rates for its channels in Tamil language. At that point the company had informed that ad rates would hiked for other channels as well. The changes in the ad rates are being made by the Company after receiving a sustained viewership for its television channels as well as consistent higher ratings for its serials, mentioned SUN TV Network.

The slot fees (broadcast fees) received from the content producers has also been increased accordingly. The change in the advertisement rates would be effective from 1st January, 2010.
