Best News Company has announced that it will launch a new regional news channel called 'Samachar Plus' for Uttar Pradesh (UP) and Uttarakhand on May 1.
According to a report in Exchange4Media, the company plans to initially cover UP and Uttarakhand before moving on to Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand and Bihar. The company also plans to target Punjab, Haryana and Delhi-NCR in the second phase.
The channel's head office will be based in Noida with bureaus in Lucknow and Dehradun.
Samachar Plus' tagline will be 'Khabar wahi jo humne kahi'.
Amitabh Agnihotry, Managing Editor, Samachar Plus said that the company will enter these regions with positive journalism and attempt to become the voice of the people.
