Turner Broadcasting has announced that it will launch Cartoon Network HD on September 14 this year. The launch will come 3 days before the channel's 18th anniversary. 

This will be Turner's first HD channel in the UK. The shows that will be available in HD include Ben 10: Ultimate Alien, Regular Show, Adventure Time and Star Wars: the Clone Wars. 

Apart from these shows The Amazing World of Gumball, an animated sitcom with a combination of 2D and 3D animation will be available on HD after its debut on 5 September.

The channel also plans to launch a few more new shows such as an all new version of Thundercats, Transformers Prime, Battle Force 5 and Bakugan Gundalian Invaders in September.
