Harris Corporation has won two Outstanding Product Awards at the Beijing International Radio, Film and Television Equipment Exhibition (BIRTV) in Beijing, China. The BIRTV exhibition is the largest yearly gathering of radio and TV equipment manufacturers in China.

The judges of the BIRTV product awards are all top, authoritative Chinese broadcast and film experts. All exhibits go through rigorous analysis and comparison, before the prizes go to the most anticipated products and the most excellent technology adoption projects. The awarded technologies and products serve as directives for the entire industry, making the BIRTV awards of paramount importance for the broadcast and film industry in China.

Harris was honoured in the Video and Broadcast Production category for its NEXIO Volt integrated storage server, and in the Radio and Television Transmission and Delivery category for its Maxiva UAX air-cooled UHF 1kW TV transmitter.

The newest addition to the Harris NEXIO product family, the high-performance NEXIO Volt integrated storage server features a small form-factor and is equipped with its own media storage — delivering lower operating costs and high levels of resilience and reliability. Like the NEXIO Volt storage area network (SAN) server introduced in 2009, the NEXIO Volt integrated storage server offers support for up to four mixed SD/HD or SD-only baseband channels in a space-saving 1RU package. NEXIO Volt also includes built-in RAID-protected media storage for video and audio essence, making it ideal for applications including disaster recovery, delay, edge server, on-air cache, production playout and ingest-to-archive.

Designed for broadcasters that require a cost- and space-efficient solution for low-power transmission, the Maxiva UAX range of air-cooled transmitters is available in digital power levels from 10 W to 2 kW. Maxiva UAX transmitters are ideal for low-power applications from full-market coverage to gap filler applications. The Maxiva UAX range incorporates the Harris PowerSmart technology for best-in-class power density and efficiency in a compact, environmentally friendly and RoHS-compliant design. All Maxiva UAX transmitters are capable of multiple modulation schemes and adapt to analogue and digital standards worldwide.
