SAB TV, the all devoted comedy general entertainment channel from the stable of Sony has plans of generating revenues by selling its content (programmes) at exhibitions such as Net Com and MIPTV at Cannes.

The channel is looking forward to fix deals with those networks in other countries which have Hindi loving Indian diaspora. This Indian audience provide a big market for Hindi comedy programmes overseas.

This new ideation at SAB TV has come up evaluating the new revenue streams and identifying the channel as a unique player in market in comedy genre. The channel is devoted to the comedy entertainment and is a unique of its kind. Some of SAB TV's highly rated shows include Tarak Mehta Ka Ultah Chasmah, Mrs & Mr Sharma Allahabadwale, Sajn Re Jhooth Maat Bolo and Gutur Gu.

Silent comedy is also the emphasized point on which the channel is focusing to offer in the overseas market as these programmes are neutral in nature and cater to the entertainment needs of large audience.

SAB TV was acquired by MSM (Multi Screen Media or the Sony Network) from Sri Adhikari Brothers in 2005. Now, the channel claims to have crossed the 100-plus GRP mark in its programme ratings. It claims to have overtaken new GEC channels such as NDTV Imagine and 9X during the week between June 6 and 12 according to TAM data.
