ABU DB Symposium 2010 begins today, 3DTV one of the highlights

The Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU) begins with its annual event focusing on the digital broadcasting today, March 9, 2010. The ABU Digital Broadcasting Symposium 2010 will run till 11 March 2010 in Kuala Lumpur.
One of the major highlights for this year’s event is the demonstration of 3DTV. Participants of the symposium will get an opportunity to witness a demonstration on 3D post production as well, something that is being taken up for the first time in this region. Delivery of surround sound by digital radio will also be highlighted through presentations, technology workshops and demonstrations. Among other highlights is a session on content creation for HDTV where premier productions on high definition will be played out using HD projectors.
This annual event attracts a large number of broadcasters and other players in the industry and has established itself as an effective forum for exchange of information and expertise.
The Symposium conference has 11 sessions all-in-all covering most of the important areas of broadcasting. It is supplemented by 10 workshops which will focus on prominent issues ranging from content protection to the analogue switch off to automated workflows.
A 40 booth exhibition will provide opportunities for the participants to have a first-hand look at what the broadcast manufacturers and service providers have to offer to the industry.
