Sony has acquired a movie package from Splendid Film for its video-on-demand (VOD) service in Germany.

The financial details of the deal between Sony and the German rights dealer however have not been disclosed.

The package includes popular movies like the recently released "The Expendables" and "SeeFood". It also includes classic hits like "Traffic" and "Gangs of New York".

The VOD service operated by Sony Entertainment Network is available on PCs and on TV sets, games consoles, tablets, PCs and smartphones manufactured by Sony.
