Samsung has just officially unveiled another version of its Samsung Star handset, called Samsung S5230W Star WiFi. Samsung Star S5230W and S5233W, which both come with Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g, in addition to the original Samsung Star phone capabilities.
The Samsung Star boasts of 3.0-inch touchscreen display with WQVGA resolution and support for 262K colors. It also has a 3.2-megapixel camera, Samsung’s TouchWiz UI, full HTML browser, RSS Reader and haptic feed-back, Bluetooth, FM Radio with RDS, MP3 Player, Samsung’s TouchWiz UI and support for widgets.
While the previous version of the Star series were extremely popular, they did not have Wi-Fi built in. Now, with the announcement of the S5233w, Samsung seems to have "resolved" one of the long-standing demands of users.
The addition of Wi-Fi might just boost the sales of the already popular handset. We wonder if the non-inclusion of Wi-Fi with the earlier edition of these phones was deliberate.
The Samsung Star Wi-Fi comes to the market in options of black, silver, pink and white colors. The Samsung Star S5230W is for India, Europe, while the Star S5233W will be launched in the Middle East, Asia and Africa.
