Anshuman Misra Managing Director, Turner International India Pvt. Ltd.
Anshuman Misra holds the dual positions of Managing Director of Turner International India Pvt. Ltd. and Senior Vice President, Network Distribution, South East Asia, Australia & New Zealand, Turner Broadcasting Systems, SEA Inc.
At Turner India, Anshuman has been responsible for the successful encryption of Cartoon Network and TCM, as well as the launch of HBO and the CNN South Asia feed. Anshuman also played a pivotal role in modeling Turner's key partnership with Zee and the subsequent formation of the distribution joint venture company, Zee-Turner. He also spearheaded Turner’s expansion and offerings in India including CNN-IBN, the co-branded association with Network 18; Turner’s investment in India’s leading production house - Miditech; launch of Real– the Hindi GEC in partnership with the Alva Brothers and Turner’s soon to be launched English entertainment channel with Warner Bros.
Additionally, Anshuman oversees the distribution, marketing and advertising sales of CNN South Asia, Cartoon Network and POGO in India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Maldives, Bangladesh, Nepal and Bhutan.
In his regional capacity, Anshuman is responsible for managing the development and expansion of Turner’s suite of channels/ Network Distribution, as well as supervising interactive and wireless content sales activities for Turner’s stable of brands including CNN International, CNN Mobile, Cartoon Network and TCM in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Philippines, Australia and New Zealand.
Prior to his current appointment, Anshuman was general manager, BBC World (India) where he managed the distribution and sales of the international news & current affairs channel.
Before joining BBC, Anshuman was with Turner Broadcasting System in Atlanta in the licensing and merchandising division, Turner Home Entertainment (THE) and in 1994 he moved to New Delhi to establish Turner Home Entertainment in India.
He was educated in the U.S and received his master’s degree in business administration from the University of Louisiana. He is married with two children. |
