Indrani Mukerjea is the Founder of INX Media. She is a successful entrepreneur and is credited with the creation of the INX Group. The Group comprises four companies: in the human resources field, INX Services Private Limited and INX Executive Search Private Limited; in the media broadcasting field, INX Media Private Limited. All these companies have been built from scratch to become major players in India and with strong projection into the international arena.

She started the Group in 1996, creating one of India's leading human resources agencies. In 2005, she formed an exclusive partnership with one of the world's most highly rated executive search organization, IMD Search and Consulting. She is also Board Member of IMD and its Asia Pacific Director.

In March 2007, she began the task of building INX Media and INX News. Within a year these two companies, previously termed INX Network, have launched 9XM, the world’s biggest Bollywood Music Entertainment Channel; 9X, the popular Hindi General Entertainment Channel; and NewsX, India’s first HDTV-ready premier English News Channel. With unprecedented speed Indrani has created one of India’s leading, independent media organizations.

Indrani has been described by The Wall Street Journal as India’s first media mogul and listed by them as one of the top “50 women in the world to watch – 2008”. She is also the youngest female CEO of any significant television broadcasting network in the world. She has been awarded the prestigious ‘Uttar Ratna’ for her outstanding work in the Art, Media and Broadcasting sector in the shortest time on record.

Indrani Mukerjea stepped down from her management role at INX Media in April 2009. SHe continues to be a Director at the media firm.

The catchy, haunting, piano-plinking score won the Best Original Score Oscar (the film's sole award) for Francis Lai from its seven Academy Awards nominations: Best Picture, Best Actor (Ryan O'Neal), Best Supporting Actor (John Marley), Best Actress (Ali MacGraw)....
