Kunal Dasgupta has over 30 years of experience in the Indian industry. He was earlier with the Mattel Toys and later the DGP group where he was a key member of the senior management.

He joined Sony Entertainment Television before its launch in July 1995 (one of the first employees), and since then has been a key person in steering Sony Entertainment Television to its success. As the Chief Operating Officer, he took Sony Entertainment Television to viewers in UK. Today, Sony Entertainment Television is present in UK, USA, northern Europe, the Middle East and East Africa, Australia and New Zealand. He�is the longest-serving CEO in the history of any media or Entertainment Company in India. He put in his papers in March, 2009 and his present assignment is not known.

Under Dasgupta’s leadership, SET grew from a one-channel service to four. It’s also a partner in The One Alliance bouquet that distributes 11 other channels in India. His leadership has brought in the SET Singapore as a part of the restructuring process in 2006 SET Singapore broadcasts and unlinks Sony channels, SET India, on the other hand, is the advertising and sales agent of the Singapore broadcaster.

He is a fellow of the Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta, is married with one daughter.
