STAR India has appointed Sameer Seth as assistant vice-president, marketing.

In his new position he will drive the affiliate marketing for the STAR network in India. Being based in Mumbai, Seth will also handle the marketing of STAR's HD channels across the country.

Prior to this development, Seth was serving at CNN as general manager, marketing. Seth had joined Network18 Group in 2005. He began his as business manager, media communications at the Mediworld Group, where he spent a year before moving to Dish TV as manager, marketing. This was followed by his stint with CNN-IBN.

Seth holds a Bachelor degree in Economics and has also done MBA from the International Management Institute.
