Walt Disney TV India ropes in Arnab Chaudhuri as Director, Content and Creative

Walt Disney Television International India has roped in Arnab Chaudhuri as the Director for Content and Creative operations of the media company.

Possessing over 15 years of rich experience in the television industry in India as well as international markets, Chaudhuri will be overseeing Creative and Content strategy for the television network run by Walt Disney International in the sub-continent. These include Disney Channel, Disney XD and Hungama TV.

As his mandate, Chaudhuri will also be laying focus on aligning local content acquisition, local production, animation projects, interstitials and on-air promotions to support the programming priorities for the network.

Natasha Malhotra, Vice President and General Manager, Walt Disney Television International India, in a prepared statement, remarked, “Creating compelling content, channel environments and engaging and entertaining our audience with locally relevant initiatives is a key strategic priority for Disney Channel, Disney XD and Hungama TV. As we continue to deliver on this commitment, the creative expertise and experience Arnab brings with him from India and international markets will play a crucial role in driving the growth of our channels.”

Over 15 years, Chaudhuri has held diverse roles spanning animation creation, creative direction, on-air promotions, programming and general management across markets such as Hong Kong, South East Asia, Australia, Philippines, India and Pakistan. Most recently he worked upon direction of a full length animation feature film Arjun produced by UTV.

“The Disney network has been successfully delivering quality entertainment that transcends age, gender and geographies, to Indian families. I am thrilled to be here and look forward to further our initiatives to bring content that is locally relevant and raises the bar on creativity and quality for our viewers”, says Chaudhuri.

Chaudhuri has been recognized for his creativity by the fraternity with several awards in India, and regional as well international forums.

The catchy, haunting, piano-plinking score won the Best Original Score Oscar (the film's sole award) for Francis Lai from its seven Academy Awards nominations: Best Picture, Best Actor (Ryan O'Neal), Best Supporting Actor (John Marley), Best Actress (Ali MacGraw)....
